In honor of Dental Hygiene Month our office invited the Kindergarden classes at Parkmont Elementary to tour our office. Dr. Chew educated the children on how to properly brush, informed them of snacks that are good and bad for the teeth.

Spread the news! I'll be at the Give Kids A Smile® event on Feb. 4. Through a partnership with the Southern Alameda County Dental Society, more than 80 dental professionals, residents, auxiliary staff and other volunteers will join together to provide free screenings and more complex procedures to attending children. Kids and parents will also receive oral hygiene instructions, toothbrushes and toothpaste. The event, which also features family entertainment, will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Union City Dental Care Center located at 1203 J Street in Union City. Visit the Candlelighters Ghost House. Go into the ghost house and look for Dr. Chew’s name. Every year in October Dr. Chew sponsors the Candle Lighters Ghost House on Fremont Blvd. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out there’s always next year.

Emma, Yen and Dr. Chew attended the California Dental Association's scientific
session in San Francisco. At the meeting they participated in multiple
continuing education courses and expanded their knowledge to put themselves at
the cutting edge of dentistry.

Dr. Chew attended the Academy of General Dentistry Annual Meeting in San Diego,
CA and received the prestigious Mastership status in the Academy. “We are proud
to honor Dr. Chew for his commitment to provide the highest quality of oral care
to their patients,” says AGD President Howard Gamble, DMD, FAGD. “There are more
than 160,000 general dentists in the United States and Canada and less than two
percent of those are Masters with the AGD."

Just finished a career day at Hopkins Junior High. Presented to 4 different groups of kids with a wide variety of interests and goals! Loved it! Hopkins is a well organized and very parent involved school.

The Southern Alameda County Dental Society is having its annual Give Kids A Smile event on Feb. 5th. We are providing free dental treatment for children in need.

Just finished the California Academy of General Dentistry's 4 year Master Track program which covers sixteen dental disciplines.
Achieving Mastership in the AGD requires a challenging course of study in sixteen dental disciplines, totaling 600 hours of continuing education, 400hours of which must be hands on.
